Confession #1

The smileys I intersperse in any text I write, justify their existence only with the purpose of cushioning brusqueness.

I intend to stop. Right now.
(Not the brusqueness.)

I absolutely know what you mean. I don't have the guts to stop. Maybe I should.

I have found more reasons for doing so.

It would take a certain amount of imagination and prowess to be able to express a smile without measuring it in terms of a mere colon and parenthesis.

Why not take up the challenge? At any rate, it just might make better writers out of all of us!

brusque also brusk (brŭsk)
adj. Abrupt and curt in manner or speech; discourteously blunt. See Synonyms at gruff.

[French, lively, fierce, from Italian brusco, coarse, rough, from Late Latin brūscum, perhaps blend of Latin rūscus, butcher's broom, and Late Latin brūcus, heather; see briar1.]
brusque'ly adv., brusque'ness n.

Hello Param.

How about banging something into your head, instead of it being the other way around?

May I suggest a mallet from the workshop?
(They happen to be available in wide profusion there.)

And while you're at it, watching a few road-runner cartoons might be useful for inspiration!

Can't tell you how uncanny this is. I just had a long discussion about the same with a friend yesterday, and I said exactly the same thing. :)

I've lost track of the many instances I could cite in that regard!

I do think we happen to have somewhat similar thought-processes. Only, we apply them in very different manners. Which is great. Makes for an ideal debate!
